Housing Bubble in Baltimore Too?
Charles Village Projects: East Side St. Paul Street
SBE&R has also begun selling condominiums for Village Lofts. Interest is high in owning a home in Charles Village, one of Baltimore’s best neighborhoods. If you or friends or family are interested, please contact us today.
I walked by this today - the sign says that they are 1-2 bedroom condos, and that they start at $400,000.
$400,000 for a 1 bedroom condo that’s block away from Hopkins? I know the area is picking up… but still, that’s crazy in my opinion. That’s almost Bay Area pricing!

When the bubble started to inflate in Washington, lots of people started to move out toward Baltimore. In fact, a few years ago there was an ad campaign by the City of Baltimore that targeted people like that, pointing out that housing prices were lower in Baltimore.
I guess that now things have started to balance out, and prices have soared now that so many young professionals have moved up there. Still, though, it’s expensive for what you get. My two bedroom townhouse 5 miles from the White House sold for $430K just 5 months ago, with a backyard and everything. Who’d pay that much for a one-bedroom condo 50 miles from the White House?
