When USB Flash Drives go bad…

A fairly new USB Flash Drive was connected to a desktop PC at work today.

And then the drive never worked again.

Unfortunately, this was tried on another USB Flash Drive. And that drive never worked again.

One of my friends tells me that he had a laptop had a USB port that would always destroy USB Flash Drive.

Something to keep in mind.

on my thinkpad i snapped off the plastic tab from the middle of the usb port by accident, meaning it now lets me put drives in the wrong way roundd, killing the drive and shutting off my laptop with a smokey smell

    hmm

I learned this fact the hard way myself :-(
killed my 1GB flash drive on a bad USB port.
but I only found out it was a bad USB port after I killed my new 2GB flash drive on the same port.
anyway, I replaced the dead 2GB in the store :-)

that should teach you a lesson:
don’t go around poking your stick in every hole…
