Toughest environmental laws: China, EU, or the US?
Over the weekend at a BBQ, I ended up talking to someone who works in Environmental Compliance for a major tech company. The question came up, “Which country will have the toughest and most stringent product environmental laws in the near future?”
I guessed Germany - which was wrong on 2 counts: 1- It’s part of the EU (so EU should’ve been my answer), and 2 – That wasn’t the right answer.
It turns out the answer is China. That’s right, China. Apparently, in the next few years, China is expected to have some of the toughest product environmental compliance laws in the world.
It was also noted that once this happens, the US will be a far far third amongst the three.
Pretty interesting.
