Vista Explorer.exe crashes when I type V in the Start menu…

And in the end, with some help from some folks in Redmond, I determined that it was because of Adobe Version Cue CS3. It was pretty annoying, I’d hit the Windows Key, type V, and the Explorer would crash – instead of allowing me to launch Visual Studio.

Once I uninstalled Version Cue, the problem disappeared. Just posting this incase it ever happens to you.

Maybe it’s a sign that PMs shouldn’t be using Visual Studio :-)

Ahhhh, thanks for the info. This did indeed happen to me! Certain letters would cause it, after a tiny delay. Removing Version Cue CS3 worked like a charm

Thank you, thank you, thank you.. That has been driving me crazy for at least a month.

Thanks for that. Was there any indication what the problem was. Seems a bit odd to have to remove an app to solve a problem like this. What happens to vista users who want to use Version Cue?

I was having trouble of this problem also.
It was directly solved when removed version cue from system.
